About the project

If you ask him, Philippe Metz would jokingly say he is blessed by a lot of trauma. All of his life experiences brought him to the place where he is today, and today he is ready to help others find their joy and passion — their path. Philippe recently started his path teaching, coaching and helping people, with his website as hub for inspiration and knowledge. I helped him with a personal, playful and organic design.

A personal touch

With the website being so personal to Philippe, I really wanted to add a personal touch to the design. When he shared stories about his hiking trip exploring ley-lines in England, I decided to use that as inspiration for an illustrative element. I used parts of a map of Jimma, Ethiopia — where Philippe was born — and combined these with the straight ley lines. The idea of a natural, organic map and finding a path reflects what Philippe stands for, and makes the website even more personal. We also used the pattern in the design for the cover of Philippe's podcast, 'De Liefde van je Leven' ('The Love of your Life').
